The Preamble
The Declaration of Independence is a document
that is divided into three parts. The first part, the Preamble, explains
to the reader about the rights of all people (though this has been debated),
states the reasons for the document, and includes the famous quote “We hold
these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, that they are
endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are
life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
